Are you a poet? Writer? Storyteller? Lyricist? Artist? Performer? Do you have a story to tell about your mental health journey? Then this program is for you!
Unsinkable Stories is a program that brings together a small group of participants to tell their lived experience stories. You can do this in any way you like -- whether you want to write a song, a poem, make a film, do something mixed media, etc. etc. etc. Our job at Unsinkable is to support you in bringing your story to life. Why? Because we know that stories have the power to heal, bring people together and provide hope. And at Unsinkable, that's what we're all about. Wanna know more? So that's what we're about -- we want to provide you with a transformative experience.
Our upcoming cohort is specifically for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth (ages 16–26) in Ontario. You can expect:
Small Cohorts: 6 to 8 participants for a safe, supportive environment.
Guided Workshops: Weekly two-hour sessions (virtual) to develop your confidence and your story.
Mentorship & Coaching: One-on-one and small group support from dope storytelling mentors.
Trauma-Informed Approach: We're going to do our best to take care of you because this stuff can be hard.
Final Showcase: After the 8 weeks we'll bring everyone together with chosen friends and family for a live in-person showcase (this is my favourite part).
Session Dates: Weekly, starting Nov 26, 2025. Last day, Jan 28, 2026. (No session on Dec 24 and Dec 31, 2025 because it’s the holidays!)
Showcase Date: Feb 18 or 25, 2026 TBD. Location also TBD.
Why should you join? Why not?! It'll be fun, you'll get to meet some really cool people, you'll get a certificate from Unsinkable at the end of it, but most importantly, this program will probably change your life. Seriously.
