The sales group is responsible for selling all 40Plus offerings including, but not limited to, our Career Transition Skills Training course, workshops, and paid presentations.  This is a perfect team for those trained in sales or looking to improve their persuasion skills.
The programming group develops new products and services, negotiates joint ventures, and modifies our existing offerings to increase revenue.  This team works closely with our training, sales, and finance & budgeting teams. This is a great team for technical writers, program and product managers, and individuals who want to become more outgoing.
The training group runs our Career Transition Skills course.  This team is the liaison between our trainers and students; it schedules our trainers, collects and distributes handouts, reminds students about their homework assignments, and ensures a great experience for our students.  This group also identifies students who possess the qualities needed to be great trainers and approves all changes recommended by the Programming group that pertains to the Career Transition Skills training course.  This is a great team for organized individuals with highly developed written communication skills.
The speaker engagement group finds and books speakers for our Monday morning meetings, our Thursday evening career management talks, and our Network with a Purpose events.  This is the perfect team for those wishing to quickly build their professional network, those with excellent communication skills, and those who are great at following up on things (or wanting to refine their follow-up skills).
The technology group is responsible for maintaining all 40Plus computer and telephone systems.  This team provides technical support for Wild Apricot (our database), Zoom, G-suite, and all other software applications.  This team is perfect for those with IT or telecom equipment backgrounds.  You must be able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
The marketing & communications group promotes our products, services, and events.  This team increases awareness of our organization through all paper and digital media.  It develops and maintains the 40Plus brand and public image.  It prepares our management team for public appearances and interviews, keeps our social media outlets active and updated, and provides digital content for our website.  This is a great group for those with excellent written and spoken communication skills and those with extensive media connections and experience.
The finance & budgeting group prepares our annual budget (subject to Board approval), monitors our financial performance on a monthly basis, prepares financial forecasts, participates in our strategic decision-making process, authorizes expenses for budgeted expenditures, and prepare our Form 990.  This is a great group for bookkeepers, accountants, budget analysts, and those wanting to improve their financial knowledge.
The job fairs group identifies and determines which job fairs 40Plus should attend as a vendor.  This team registers 40Plus for the job fairs and plans them.  This includes finding volunteers to man our booths and educating them about the value of our offerings.  This group is responsible for all logistics involved in the event including getting our booth, marketing material, and volunteers to and from the job fairs.  This is the perfect group for an individual with strong social skills and public speaking abilities.  It is also a good group to join if you want to help on a sporadic basis.
The membership group is responsible for developing new ideas to increase membership and provide value to our members.  This team maintains our membership records.  This is an excellent group for anyone with prior membership experience at a nonprofit organization.
The development group is responsible for establishing a corporate sponsorship program at 40Plus of Greater Washington and defining the number of donations required for each sponsorship level.  This group both attains and renews sponsorships.  It writes and submits grant proposals and is responsible for organizing and staffing our annual fundraising drive.  This is a great group for those with, or looking to gain, sales experience.  It is also a great group for those looking to increase their professional network.
