Discussion and Playreading with an Author: Hilary Kaiser, “French Brides, American Warriors” on 15 November
In honor of Veterans Day, author and ALP member Hilary Kaiser invites you to a play reading and discussion of her one-act play “French Brides, American Warriors.” There are 7 characters in the play –4 men and 3 women–and hopefully 7 of the attendees will volunteer to read out loud the day of the meeting. Those who sign up will receive in advance a PDF copy of the play, which they will bring to the meeting. (Hilary will also bring along a few extra scripts.)

Description of the Play: Three U.S. veterans of WWII and their French “war brides” return to Normandy for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of D-Day, June 6-7, 1994. During these two days, as they tour with Colonel Preston, they relive dramatic memories from their past and come to insightful realizations about their marriages and themselves.

Event Details: The reading and discussion will take place in the conference room, from 14h00-16h00. It is open to Library members and any non-members wishing to attend may purchase a Day Pass (10 euros). No advance registration is necessary, but please use this form to provide your email address if you would like a copy of the play in advance.
