The Writing Center is offering several options for weekly graduate and undergraduate writing groups this semester, including registered writing groups that require regular attendance, and drop-in writing groups (attend when you’re available). Led by experienced instructors, these groups provide an opportunity for sustained writing practice within a community of other student writers. Writing groups take place in one of the following modes:
- in-person
- online / fully virtual
Graduate students may choose from (a) registered writing groups that require regular attendance and (b) drop-in writing groups (attend when you’re available). Undergraduates can attend online and are welcome to join at any point during the semester. At this time, you may join only one registered writing group. You are also welcome to participate in one or more of our drop-in writing groups, regardless of whether you are enrolled in a registered group.
Spring writing groups begin meeting in Week 3 of the semester (the week of Feb. 5–9, 2024) and continue meeting through Week 14 (the week of Apr. 28–May 3, 2023). No groups will meet during spring break (March 23–31, 2024).
To receive priority consideration for a Spring 2024 writing group, please complete this interest form no later than Sunday, January 28, at 11:59 p.m. CT. Forms received after this date will be considered for additional openings or for our waitlist.
