Reel Voices 2017 Application
Reel Voices teaches documentary filmmaking and is designed to encourage students to challenge the conventions of film, tackle social issues, and spread cultural awareness. No previous filmmaking experience necessary. Cameras and editing equipment will be provided. Students will have their films debut at the San Diego Asian Film Festival in November and receive a $500 scholarship.

WHO CAN APPLY: San Diego County high school Students of ALL backgrounds (currently attending high school graduating seniors included) who want to make a documentary film and have a great story to tell.

CLASS INFO: Every Tuesdays & Thursdays June 20th ‐ August 17th 2016 (8 weeks) from 10:00am ‐ 2:30pm at Liberty Station, Point Loma (2508 Historic Decatur Rd. Suite 140). No more than one absence is allowed for any reason. You must have your own means of transportation. Please expect to spend about 40 additional hours of video editing time in the month of August to complete your film.

NOTIFICATION: If selected, we will be contacting you in April to set up an in-person interview with our Reel Voices staff. Final class will be announced by April 20th and notified by phone and email.
