How does one become a DJ at Free Radio SAIC?
1. Complete this application
Applications that are incomplete in any way (including playlists) will not be considered.
2. Attend a training session and broadcast a test slot show
You will be notified of all the times and dates of trainings and test slots by e-mail once your application is processed.
THEN WHAT HAPPENS?
1. Do Your Show!
Each DJ is required to do his/her show every week during the semester. If you can’t do your show (you’re sick, you have to leave town, etc.) you must get a fellow DJ to cover your show. If you need help contacting your fellow DJs the station manager can help.
2. DJ Meetings
DJs must attend our mandatory monthly meetings. The meetings are a great way to stay updated and involved in the Free Radio community. If you cannot attend a meeting you must contact the station manager.
3. Promotions – Flyers, Webspace and Podcasts!
Free Radio is an Internet Broadcast Radio Station and relies heavily on self-promotion. Everyone has to make a sweet flyer for their show and distribute it around school and earth to attract more
listeners! Each show will get page on the Free Radio site, which the respective DJ must edit. You can also turn your recorded show into a podcast to be uploaded onto the school’s website. We will help you set this stuff up! Get excited, get famous, spread the word!
