BKCM Refund Policies
Private Lesson Withdrawal policy

Students who wish to withdraw must fill out a private lesson withdrawal request form. Staff will contact you within 5 business days of your request. Every withdrawal situation is different, and BKCM will work to find an adequate and rapid solution to each case. The withdrawal approval may take up to 10 business days to process. Upon approval, BKCM will withhold the cost of lessons that have already transpired (including student absences), plus the cost of 4 lessons tuition from date the withdrawal is confirmed. Payment plan, registration, and late payment fees are non-refundable.

Group Class Withdrawal and Refunds

Students enrolled in 15 week classes have 24 hours prior to the 3rd class to notify registration for withdrawal. 10 week classes have 24 hours prior to the 2nd class to notify registration for withdrawal. Students withdrawing from group classes will be refunded the remaining tuition less the cost of the number of classes they have taken. Fees associated with group classes are non-refundable.

Medical Withdrawals

The Brooklyn Conservatory of music offers medical withdrawals with refunds or credit on a case by case basis with a doctor’s note. Basis for withdrawals include injuries or illnesses that genuinely impede a student’s abilities to successfully participate in their musical instruction or instrument learning.

Summer Policies

Policies in the summer differ from those during the school year to accommodate student availability. For private lessons, BKCM offers a buy 4 get 1 free promotion. Please contact the front desk for more details. There is no session-long commitment with summer lessons. Returning students are required to book minimum 1 lesson with their current teacher. New students or returning students wishing to study with a different teacher are required to book minimum 3 lessons with a new teacher. There are no refunds or credits during the summer. Lessons can be transferred to different times, dates, or teachers before July 2. After July 2, all scheduled lessons and camps are unchangeable.
