NQAPIA Board Application
The National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance, or NQAPIA is an federation organization comprising about 40 local queer API groups nationwide that reach several thousand individuals. We hold conferences and gatherings, take policy positions, create and disseminate resources and research as part of our effort to fight homophobia in the API community and racism and xenophobia in the LGBT community.

Membership on the Board of Directors of the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) is a commitment to being a leadership volunteer solely charged with shepherding NQAPIA through the ongoing fulfillment of NQAPIA’s organizational mission statement.

Board members are ambassadors, fundraisers, and stewards of the organization. You are one of the cornerstones of NQAPIA - along with the staff and the member organizations we are in alliance with. With the leadership of a vibrant and accountable board of directors, the organization is able to thrive, make strategic choices, adjust course when needed, and be fiscally responsible and healthy.

Through the board process, NQAPIA’s Board of Directors will have the authority to make executive decisions on the policies and strategies that will maintain or further NQAPIA’s mission and organizational sustainability. This calls upon the members of NQAPIA’s Board of Directors to dedicate time, thought, and energy in addition to acting as responsible ambassadors before NQAPIA’s key stakeholders and public at large.

This application is the first step in the process of applying to be a board member. After this you will be interviewed by a few of the board members. Thank you for taking the time to apply to be on our team!
