SGC DEI AOC - Conversations with Community Members

Beginning in Spring Quarter of 2021, members of the SGC DEI AOC (current GCs and GC students) will be available for 30-45 minute conversations with prospective applicants. If you are thinking about applying to genetic counseling graduate programs in the future and would like to chat with someone from SGC DEI AOC, we invite you to fill out this form. Our hope is to pair applicants with a member who may share similarities in background, identities, or interests. Current topics we welcome for discussion are listed below.

*We anticipate a high volume of requests, so please expect a response rate of at least 2 weeks following your submission.*

**We emphasize and will honor the requests of those who have little to no previous exposure to the field of genetic counseling.**

Community Guidelines:
1. This initiative is intended to support individuals deciding whether or not genetic counseling is the career path they want to pursue. Please only complete this form if this is one of your only opportunities to connect with students and counselors within the field.
2. All of the information you provide below will remain confidential.
3. Your email address will be given to the SGC DEI AOC Community Member you are paired with, who will then initiate the conversation and work with you to find a date and time for a virtual conversation.
4. This is a one-time conversation that requires both the prospective student and the SGC DEI AOC member to have respectful, professional interpersonal communication leading up to and during the conversation.
