Honours College Students are assigned a mentor during their Semester B (2nd Semester) at the College. They are expected to use this opportunity to develop their Christian character through their interaction with seasoned men and women serving as Faculty at Uganda Christian University.
As the Mentoring is going on, the student going to semester C of Honours College is expected to start mentoring relationships with other students’ especially fresh students residing in Nsibambi or Sabiti Halls. This would therefore necessitate then that the Honours College students in their final year be allocated room in the said Halls to further nurture the mentoring relationships initiated. The idea is while Honours College Students reside at the Complex; the first year is for the purpose of receiving mentorship with the hope that in their last year at the College, they too should have other non honours college students to mentor.
The aim of the mentoring Program is to build strong Christian characters that have learnt the habits of living out their Christian faith as to be influential to others.
All Students are encouraged to take advantage of this component of the Honours College curriculum in order to be nurtured well and grow in love for Christ and others.
This is a formal mentoring process and students are required to fill in this form and return them in for mentor matching.
Before beginning your mentorship programme you should have submitted this proposal with your Mentor’s Application to the Honours College Office.
A weekly meeting between the Mentor and Intern lasting a minimum of one Hour should be a scheduled part of each Mentorship Proposal.
