Coming to DC to Lobby Senators About FERC?
Dear Opponents of FERC and Fracked Gas Pipelines,

On May 22-23 we will be gathering in Washington, DC to urge our Senators to:

--> oppose a restoration of a quorum of Commissioners at FERC until Congress has investigated FERC’s abuses of power and law and put in place needed reforms,
--> challenge Trump’s nominations to fill vacant FERC Commissioner seats, and
--> use the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing to grill the nominees.

This is an opportunity to join with people like yourself from across the country to influence the decisions that affect us all. We need you and others in your organization to be there!

We would like to know who will be coming by May 15 so we can set up the schedule of meetings with key Senators and other elected officials. We are anticipating having meetings on each of the two days ranging from noon to 4:00 time frame. please keep that in mind when identifying the days you believe you can come.

No prior experience is necessary to join this effort, however, we would like to know, for those coming, if you have experience with citizen lobbying and can help to lead a lobbying group. A brief training seminar via webinar the week before (dates below) and leave behind materials for each meeting will be provided.

It’s nearly three months since FERC had a quorum. During this period they have not been able to approve any new fracked gas infrastructure subject to their jurisdiction. In that time our broadly-based campaign has made itself felt through media stories, two national call-ins and meetings with Senators’ or their staff in home offices. Now it’s time to come to DC to make ourselves heard in the halls of Congress.

We hope to hear from you very soon; please fill out the form below to let us know if you can join us.
We will be making our plans based on who can attend and the kinds of support you would like and need.

Signed:
Karen Feridun, Berks Gas Truth
Ted Glick, Beyond Extreme Energy
Paul Gierosky, CORN
Maya van Rossum, Delaware Riverkeeper Network
