GUIDELINES
1. Piece running time: Works must be capped at 20minutes.

2. Preference will be given to submissions that are premieres (works which are finished and completed pieces, not previously presented at “A Modern Night at the Folly” or in any other dance concert or festival.) All applications must be submitted by the choreographers themselves. Professional companies may not apply on the choreographer’(s) behalf.

3. Submissions are welcome from all choreographers. Works from Missouri and Kansas based choreographers, former residents of Kansas City, as well as choreographers from other regional, surrounding cities will be considered if all guidelines are met.

4. The quality of your video is very important. Please do not send clips/fragments of your work. We need to see your piece in its entirety. When sending your video link, please make sure that the video can be viewed by the public.

5. If your work is chosen for the performance, all program and technical information must be provided to City in Motion by Friday, January 3rd, 2020. Failure to do so will result in the removal of your piece from the program. Please note that our budget for rental of special equipment (i.e. video projectors, lighting equipment, micro phones) is limited and must be discussed with our technical director if needed.

6. City in Motion will not cover the costs of the Folly piano usage or aerial rigging. Choreographers wishing to use live piano accompaniment should consider using a keyboard, providing their own piano or be willing to pay partial or full cost of the Folly piano rental fees. Choreographers requiring aerial rigging will need to pay partial or full costs of aerial rigging fees. Partial fee payments will only be considered if two or more choreographers wish to use the Folly piano or require the use of aerial rigging. Please contact Kyle Mullins (kylewmullins@gmail.com) for further details.
