Godparents are “companions on the journey of faith” for their Godchildren. They represent the local church community supporting and encouraging their Godchildren in their life of faith. Godparents are role models, demonstrating their faith by their actions and words in the faith community and the world. Godparents at St. Anthony are expected to:

Take responsibility to be a good role model by the example of their prayer and Christian living.
Take part in the life of their Godchildren and listen to their spiritual needs.
Give witness to the candidate of the faith of the Catholic Church.
Attend the Baptismal Ceremony and particular classes and trainings as assigned by the Pastor.
Represent the Church at the Baptismal Ceremony.
