READ ALL RULES CAREFULLY!!!
VIDEO AUDITIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL CURRENT MONTICELLO ACADEMY STUDENTS (K-8th, only).
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no formal rehearsal, which means all acts must be PERFORMANCE READY. Every act will be on stage with no special lighting. Dance numbers will need to share the stage with instruments, so please plan on a smaller space (about 2/3 of the stage).
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUBMIT THIS FORM UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR VIDEO AND SUBMITTED A YOUTUBE LINK.
Examples: Comedy acts; singing; magic show; short skits; monologues or poetry reciting; performing on musical instruments; dance; juggling; and more.
All submissions must be made by video recording and uploaded to youtube.com or other video site. Include the link with your application, DO NOT EMAIL!!!
Submissions need to be performance-ready and will be judged as the final product.
Repertoire should not exceed more than 5 minutes - HOWEVER, you may be asked to shorten your act if necessary to include more students in the show. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Costumes, props, and equipment needs must be included in the video.
The repertoire/content performed must be the same as in the submitted video.
For instrumentalists: more than 1 piece/movement may be performed for the audition as long as the time does not exceed 5 minutes.
Participation is limited to 1 solo and/or 1 group number.
Group numbers will be judged as a whole, so make sure all members are prepared - YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR WEAKEST MEMBER!
A piano, music stands, mics, and drum set are available to participants. Amps, electric drum sets, instruments, and other equipment must be provided by the student and be represented in the video. If required, parents must be on hand to set up instruments. Staff will not be responsible for set up and take down.
Video recordings may not be enhanced or edited.
Submission of the audition video does not guarantee a spot in the performance.
Admission and participation is at the discretion of Ms. Natalie.
