The Mayflower trail starts with the Mayflower story and the group of people who left from Plymouth, before meeting the people and buildings which shaped the town. The route of the trail follows key information points but, following initial consultations, some changes have been able to be made to the original route in order to avoid more difficult areas.
The route will take approx 1 hour and except for Looe Street and Stokes Lane the rest of the route is relatively flat. Where possible we have worked to minimise the need to go over cobbles however it is unavoidable in places.
The trail includes Looe Street which has a 1:25 gradient (a 6m elevation change up the hill). Do you think there should be an additional shorter level route around the Barbican? The proposed shorter route is shown below with the diversion that removes cobbles but also misses out Elizabethan House
The route requires you to cross from Finewell Street to the left hand side of Southside Street. Which crossing option do you prefer?
Finewell Street - across Notte Street (pedestrian controlled) - across Hoe Approach Rd (pedestrian controlled) and Hoegate Street
Across St Andrews Street (cobbles) - across Notte Street opposite the Co-Op - Hoegate Street
Should there be a summary of the route so that people can decide before they start whether it would be suitable (both on a leaflet and the app)?
