    ELIGIBILITY & TUITION

The 2019 Cohort is limited to 35 participants. Consideration is only given to candidates who meet the following criteria: - Advanced training in an orchestral instrument (see list below) - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) completed prior to start of Program - Minimum age of 21 by September 1, 2018 - Proficient English skills (spoken, written, comprehension) - Flexibility to travel twice during the Program for two International Residences. The first of these two field studies is a 15-day Residence that takes place in Chile with the Full 2019 Cohort in January 2019. The second International Residence occurs in an international setting mutually determined by individual Cohort Members and the Program, and typically takes place in March or April, lasting 10 days. - Ability to take part in two live 90-minute seminars per week throughout the Academic year, typically scheduled from 5 - 6:30pm Eastern Standard Time, as well as preparing required readings and completing individual and group assignments for each of 12 Modules. The value of The 2019 Global Leaders Program is assessed at $14,000 USD per participant by YOA Orchestra of the Americas, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States, which fiscally administers the Program. This value includes 12 Executive Certificates overseen by a body of curating academic institutions including McGill, Harvard, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, and Duke universities, El Sistema USA, The Foundation Center, The League of American Symphony Orchestras, and The Institute for Operational Excellence; 65+ hours of live webinars with module directors, faculty and guest speakers, assignment review and feedback, individual final project mentors; and most ground expenses over the course of ~25 days during two International Residences—including room, board, local transport, and emergency travel health insurance. All accepted participants to The 2019 Global Leaders Program automatically receive scholarships that bring the total cost of tuition down to $3,000 USD per participant for the 9-month program. Beyond tuition, participants are required to purchase two international flights in order to join the two International Residences mentioned above (Chile in January, and a second Residence in mutually agreed upon location and set of dates through dialogue with program advisors). The Program directly sponsors all remaining costs, including academic and international ground costs.
