For tour signups:
Yale offers both regular tours and STEM-oriented tours. You can sign up for a tour through the Admissions Office here.
Transportation:
Never been to New Haven? No worries! The Metro North and Amtrak stop is a 20 minute walk/5 minute uber from campus. Or you can find a ride with someone else coming up!
For Shabbat Visitors:
Most of the shabbat experience takes place within the Slifka Center for Jewish life at 80 wall street. That's part of what's lovely about our community. It's super pluralistic and everyone has their services under the same roof and comes together for dinner. Even if you're visiting with a parent, I would strongly recommend staying with a student host for shabbat (Friday night). You'll have a fuller picture of the shabbat and Jewish experience at Yale this way.
Kosher Dinning:
Kosher food is served at the dinning hall at slifka, kikar shusterman. Operational hours listed here: https://slifkacenter.org/slifka-dining/
Menu listed here: https://slifkacenter.org/menu2023/
If your parent/s want/s to stay overnight: we do not have official recommendations, but I believe parents often stay at the graduate or over local hotels.
Parking: There is a parking lot behind Slifka. I can put you in touch with a Slifka staff member who can help with arranging that.
Email me if you have any questions not covered by this form or by my responses to it, at elisheva.feintuch@yale.edu. I’ll reach out once I have the logistics worked out. Excited that you’re coming!
