Women desiring to join Junior League of Chattanooga (JLC) should:
A. Have an interest in voluntarism.
B. Meet age and residency requirements: A new member must be 22 years of age before May 31, 2025.
Live in Chattanooga or the surrounding area.
C. Demonstrate ability to meet the New Member requirements, which include attendance, financial,
and volunteer requirements. Through quality opportunities, education, and experiences, a JLC
New Member receives training that will help her better herself as a civic leader and in turn better
her community.
D. Fulfill the training opportunities of the New Member Training Course. Junior League of
Chattanooga offers programs that provide formal, informal, and experience training in six key
subjects for developing effective community impact and civic leadership.
As part of the New Member Development and Orientation program, Junior League of Chattanooga asks each New Member to participate in the following:
1. A New Member Orientation Session with an assigned Mentor.
2. One training module for each of the six subjects. These modules are to be completed
within a 12-month period, based on schedule, style of learning, and interest. Many New Members will complete within 6 months and become an Active Member.
Financial requirements for New Members:
Total dues are $400 [annual dues for subsequent years are $300]. For Members Joining or
Reinstating there is a prorated rate based on Junior League of Chattanooga’s June 1st – May 31st
Fiscal year time frame. The schedule is as follows:
● June 1st and before September 1st : $400
● September 1st and before December 1st : $325
● December 1st and before April 1st : $250
● Members joining in April will pay the following year's dues ($400)
Dues payments may be paid with a debit or credit card, Venmo at (JLChatt), cash, or check.
Joining or Reinstating Members that Join March 1st – May 31st will be required to pay dues ($300) for the incoming year by the June 1st deadline.
Upon joining JLC, new members can pay their dues either in full, or in two installments. The first
payment is made when a new member joins JLC, and the second payment is made within 60 days of
joining or reinstating membership.
Members must fill out a Dues Payment form and keep a debit or credit card on file in the JLC office. All payments will be made with a member's debit or credit card. All second payment dates will be made between the JLC office and the member. Other payment schedules are available upon request.

Attendance requirements for New Members:
1. Attend New Member Orientation, conducted by the New Member Committee, on the privileges
and responsibilities of League membership.
2. Attend monthly General Membership Meetings (GMM): 5:30 p.m. Social, 6:00 p.m.
Meeting (typically the first Monday of every month September – May; two absences allowed.).
