NOFA-NY Farm Share Program Launch
NOFA-NY, along with the neighboring NOFA chapters aims to build community food security through Northeast CSA Farm Share. Farm Share will provide limited income households with the opportunity to support their local CSA farmer and receive reliable access to high-quality produce on a weekly basis through an innovative cost-share model.  Donations will aid in reducing the cost of the CSA for lower income households while supporting nearby farms.

Information about the program
In 2025, NOFA-NY plans to have 10-15 farms with about 10 shares subsidized per farm. The aim of Farm Share is to have farm customers from low income households pay 50% of the share, NOFA-NY pays $200/share, and the farm fundraises the remainder of the share.
Household participants approach
The current idea is that the participating farms know their community much better than our NOFA staff. With that in mind, we believe that the farms will take the lead finding the participants. NOFA will aid in highlighting the participating farms and sending out memos to the areas, and if needed we can work together to address finding participants. 
Farm Fundraising
NOFA will help throughout the fundraising program and aid in events and programs that farms roll-out in order to raise funds. Each farm will have the NOFA staff available to help brainstorm and plan the best options available.
