Write out the paragraph for your introduction. Remember, this does NOT mean to write: "I am...." This means your 'objective'. You may be personable and you may also use first person, but keep it clear and professional. You want to show that you are focused and motivated.

Write your second paragraph here. Remember that this part of the cover letter should explain the reasons you should be hired as an employee or accepted for a program. This is pretty much everything else on your resume without all the dates. Be sure to be specific and concise.

Your third paragraph should go here. Remember that it shows off what you know about the company or the program. Afterall, the company wants employees/academics/interns that are a good fit. If you don't know anything about the organization, how are they supposed to know if you would be right for them. You may have to do some research to be able to write this paragraph.

You should copy and paste your paragraphs into a document and save it with the file name "Cover Letter Lastname". As you edit it, remember to keep the cover letter to ONE PAGE. If you have a lot to say, cut it down some, and use minimum spacing with a 10-12 point font. If you don't have much to say, keep typing and use larger spacing with a 12-14 point font. Close out with a 'Sincerely,' 'Yours Truly," or "I look forward to hearing back from you.' Are your paragraphs in a Google DOC to turn in later?
