The World Business Angels Investment
Forum (WBAF); an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial
Inclusion (GPFI), is committed to collaborating globally to empower the
economic development of the world by fostering innovative financial instruments
for startups, scale-ups, innovators, entrepreneurs and Small and Medium
Enterprises and to promoting gender equality and women’s participation in all
sectors of the world economy. The
Forum believes that connecting entrepreneurs from all over the world with world
leaders and qualified global investors will contribute to the development of
more efficient ecosystems for their respective economies and generate financial
returns as well. This is particularly promising in the case of Nigeria
considering the significant global attention that the country is receiving for
the vibrancy and immense potential of its startup ecosystem.
The WBAF Nigeria
Country Office operates as a talent agency and data hub for angel investors
that among other things, aims to bridge training and funding gaps for
entrepreneurs by providing them access to high quality training on effective
business strategies and, connecting them with angel investors for smart funding.
The WBAF Global Fundraising Stage (GFRS) continually
seeks to create a high-quality portfolio with some of the world’s most
promising startups and scaleups and, to create opportunities for co-investments
and follow-on investments. It connects top startups with the best angel
investors, making it possible for them to benefit from the investments, know-how,
mentorship and networks of qualified investors. The WBAF’s extensive network of
global investors includes angel investors, private equity funds, co-investment
platforms, wealth management institutions, family offices, venture capital
firms and acceleration centres.
GFRS 2022 will provide a unique
