Applications for Kellogg College MCR Welfare Representatives - Michaelmas 2019
Appointment considerations are made on a rolling basis until all roles are filled.
Kellogg College MCR Welfare Sub-Committee is accepting applications for Welfare Representatives ('Reps') for Michaelmas 2019.
Current Kellogg students may nominate themselves to become a Welfare Rep for the areas as listed below. Please note that the Reps will be appointed by the Welfare & Equality Officer as mandated by the MCR Constitution. Separately, Kellogg College Junior Deans will hold an election for Disabilities Rep later in the term.
Nominations will open on a termly basis and the chairs appointed this term will have to renominate themselves to continue in the following terms.
Welfare Reps are responsible for contributing to the wellbeing of students as part of the wider Welfare & Equality Sub-Committee.
All reps will be expected to liaise with the Welfare & Equality Officer to deliver on the following tasks:
-partake in monthly MCR Welfare Sub-Committee meetings with the Welfare & Equality Officer, junior deans, peer supporters, and other Reps
-take the lead to organise activities, initiate campaigns, or promote awareness relevant to their Rep area, either as part of the weekly Welfare Tea & Cake or on a separate occasion, as agreed at the start of their appointment (fresh ideas are welcome, so please mention them briefly in the application form)
-represent the Kellogg MCR across the University in areas relevant to their Rep area
Scopes of these Rep areas are flexible and therefore no specific descriptions are provided. Plans will be shaped by the appointed Reps in coordination with the Welfare & Equality Officer.
MCR Committee is currently working on a plan to ensure Reps receive an appropriate welfare training, which will be confirmed later in the term.
