Why This Matters
Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO's) are essential to Utah’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
They provide:
- Hands-on learning experiences that connect classroom knowledge to real-world careers.
- Leadership development, employability skills, and professional networking opportunities that prepare students for postsecondary success.
- Community involvement and service, teaching responsibility, citizenship, and teamwork.
Eliminating CTSO funding would harm thousands of Utah students who rely on these programs for growth, experience, and opportunity.
CTSOs are not extracurricular — they are an integral part of CTE education that builds the workforce Utah needs for its future.
We Stand Together
We call on the Utah Legislature to:
- Reject any proposal to eliminate CTSO funding.
- Recognize the proven value these organizations provide to Utah’s economy, education system, and students.
- Ensure continued investment in the programs that shape Utah’s next generation of leaders.
