Thank you for expressing interest in becoming a member of the International Union of Speleology’s Commission on Volcanic Caves.
The principal objective of the Commission on Volcanic Caves is to advance the scientific exploration, study, and protection of caves and related features in volcanic rock throughout the world. It seeks to bring together all persons and organisations with interests in volcanic caves, their features and their environments. Its members come from many countries and comprise vulcanospeleologists, biologists, microbiologists, cavers and cave managers.
Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in volcanic caves and the terrains within which they occur. There is no membership fee.
A key activity of the Commission is to convene International Symposiums on Vulcanospeleology, which provide a forum for presenting results of investigations and other lava cave related activities, a forum for discussing issues of mutual interest and for socialising with other members from around the world. The symposiums are convened every two years
The Commission also produces a newsletter which in recent years has been published electronically approximately every six months.
If you would like to join the Commission group, please fill out and submit the form below. You will receive a confirmation message at the email address that you indicated on the form.
Thank you for your interest.
