The Way Up Conference 2024 Call for Proposals

The Way Up Conference 2024 will take place November 7-8, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center in Coralville, IA.

This year’s conference theme is Knowledge, Growth, and Perseverance on The Way Up. 

The Way Up Conference Planning Council is seeking submissions for highly interactive concurrent session proposals that align with one or more of the tracks listed below and apply directly to our audience. Conference attendees will primarily be from Iowa Regent institutions, private colleges and universities, and community colleges, and will include those with higher education faculty, administrative and leadership positions as well as attendees aspiring to acquire those roles.

Submission Guidelines:

To solicit a broad variety of topics and presentations, we encourage submissions that are applicable to the conference’s focus on women in higher education from individuals and groups with diverse perspectives and a range of experiences and backgrounds.

Proposal Submission Must Include:

  • Session title and brief summary (approx. 100 words) for use in the conference program
  • Names, contact information, and a brief bio (max. 100 words) for all speakers involved in the proposed session
  • Detailed description (max of 1,000 words) of the proposed session, including:
               - Topic, purpose, intended audience, and content;
               - An explanation of how the presentation aligns with the conference goals and
                 theme; 
               - A description of planned strategies to engage the audience.

Submitting a Proposal and Other Important Information:

  • Please submit your proposal no later than April 15, 2024 by completing the form below.
  • There will be no compensation for traveling to, or speaking at, the event. 
  • Presenters who plan to attend sessions and meals outside of their own session are eligible for a 50% registration discount. 
  • If you are proposing a panel, you will be responsible for confirming the panelists, managing topics of focus, and organizing bios to submit to the Program Committee prior to the event.
