After the devastating Ellicott City, Maryland flood of July 2016, DreamBuilders partnered with Rebuilding Together Howard County to repair a home on upper Main Street that did not have flood insurance. The Ellicott City Historical Preservation Commission approved the repair project as follows:
- replace all of windows in the home
- repair external walls and install all new siding
- repair all the gutters and downspouts
- completely gut the kitchen, install new drywall, flooring, cabinets, applicable, and plumbing
Tasks for September 16th include removing old windows and preparing rough openings for the new windows. We may also begin demolition of the kitchen area.
You will receive an email by September 13 with directions and tools needed as well as a liability waiver that must be signed by volunteer and parent (for all volunteers under 18). To get you started, tools should include - tool belt, hammer, safety glasses, square, pencil and tape measure. If you sign up and then can not attend, please let us know ASAP so someone else can go in your place. Contact John McBeth (
