TEACHER EVALUATION: WHERE WE STAND AND WHERE WE NEED TO GO
Date: Friday, May 2nd, 2014
Time: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Rockwell Hall, Room 204
Description: Before teacher evaluation can succeed, we must change the way we think about its main purpose. Those engaged in designing and implementing effective evaluation systems must agree on critical components, such as defining what good teaching is, as well as avoiding common missteps, such as excluding educators from the work. Dr. Minnici will describe national trends and best practices central to teacher evaluation. Participants will be invited to engage in an interactive discussion focusing on teacher evaluation in New York State.
Presenter: Dr. Angela Minnici, Director, Center for Great Teachers and Leaders
