BBB 2019 : WELFARE ENOUGH
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Welfare Enough at BBB 2019! (1st to 5th of May).
Every day’s morning and afternoon shifts (between 6am and 8pm)
+ Thursday and Sunday night shifts (between 8pm and 6am) will be 4 hours long.
Friday / Saturday night shifts (between 8pm and 6am) will be only 2 hours long!
Good news! This year, you won’t miss anything of your party, in joining our crew!
How will the shifts be alocated ?
Your first shift will ALWAYS be an easy one. This will familiarise you with what we do, where things are and give you basic training.
A second shift will be at a busier time, when you can make use of that initial experience.
A third, short - only 2hrs - shift will mean that you are now experienced, confident and able to cope with anything required of you.
Welfare Enough works hard to balance our shift schedule so that there is always an experienced volunteer on shift and to ensure that we have people who identify as male and female to assist service users with any sensitive issues.
We also try to have a mix of languages spoken by volunteers on any given shift.
Welfare Enough is a bridge between the medical services/Red Cross and those of security/police. We offer a safe, comfortable, alcohol-free space for when things get a bit too much to cope with on your own; or when you need a sanitary towel/condom at 3am; or just to take a breather and sit down with a cup of tea.
All of these are welfare. Our objective is that visitors leave having had a better integrated burn experience than they'd have had without our support.
Please take a moment to tell us a little bit about yourself so we can get this right!
*Note: All volunteers will still need to buy a ticket. Welfare Enough does not have access to extra tickets.
