2020 Firefly Gathering Scholarship Application
We are sorry to announce that we have had to cancel Firefly 2020 due to Covid-19. We will miss you. Please check back next year to apply for 2021.

The purpose of The Firefly Gathering's scholarship program is to increase the accessibility of our event to include people with systemic/systematic access disadvantages. A systemic disadvantage is a condition where there is something in the system itself that gives someone or something an advantage over others. Systematic is a condition where someone or something gains an advantage over others because they are doing things in a specific way.

While many of us are challenged by modern culture, there are groups of people who have been profoundly effected by these kinds of disadvantages and inequalities, especially over time. That is who this fund was created to support. Included in these groups (but not limited to) are: Black/African American folks, American Indian/Native American/Indigenous folks, Hispanic/Latino(a) folks, Asian Americans, other People of Color, refugees, people for whom English is a second language and at risk youth.

We offer these scholarships with the hopes and intentions of fostering a strong and powerful diverse community of earth-centered people who are steeped in the knowledge that Firefly has to offer; who will then work in their greater communities, spreading this knowledge and sharing the skills they have learned with others.

Firefly Gathering is an outdoor camping event, therefor some basic camping gear is required: a tent and bedding are essential, as well as a hat, sun protection, a rain jacket, flashlight, etc, and food for meals (find more info here https://fireflygathering.org/attend#faq), Do you have any needs for this kind of equipment? *
Is a partial scholarship (half) an option for you? This year, this means that you pay $130, and Firefly pays $130 (thereby extending our fund to reach more folks). *
Our venue, Deerfields, charges a $25 per person land-use fee. Will you be able to cover that for you and anyone you are applying for? *
Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself?
