Student Voice Journalism Fellowship Application: 2019-2020 Cohort
The Student Voice Journalism Fellowship equips 18 high-school-aged journalists with the tools to tell their schools’ stories and leverages their voices to affect change in the broader educational dialogue. Fellows will offer student-centric perspectives and solutions to the pervasive educational issues facing their communities and the country at large. In addition to professional development and skill training, fellows will have access to a network of reporters, storytellers and communications professionals using writing as a tool for change in the education space. Regular feedback from peers and program coordinators is a cornerstone of this fellowship.

The fellowship amplifies student voices by publishing monthly pieces from each fellow, producing our very own podcast, printing our biannual "Schooled" magazine, and working with partners to publish content and send fellows to national education and reporting conferences.

It is our goal to work with new geographic locations and diverse communities from coast to coast. The program will select fellows by application from a nationwide pool of high-school-aged young people with the diverse experience, coachable skills and high enthusiasm necessary to produce consistently high-quality content.
