Member of the European Parliament (ECR group) Dace Melbārde in partnership with the EUNIC-cultural Institutes in Latvia, an NGO "Art Cēsis" and NGO "Culturelab" is kindly inviting you to participate in the online webinar "ARTISTIC CREATION IN PUBLIC SPACES. Experience of Marseille - European Capital of Culture 2013."
In cooperation with the French Culture Institute in Latvia we will present 3 topics and excellent presenters:
1.Overview of Marseille 2013
Sébastien Cavalier, Director of Cultural Affairs at the City of Marseille
Mr Cavalier will provide feedback on the Marseille 2013 ECOC experience as seen from the city's administration point of view from the application to the repercussions post ECOC.
2.Presentation of the GR2013 project
Loïc Magnant, Director of GR2013.
The GR2013 is a 365km urban, suburban and nature footpath. This project is at the crossroads of contemporary artistic creation, ecology and territory planning.
3.Artistic creation in public spaces
Jean-Sébastien Steil, Director of the FAI-AR.
The FAI-AR is the first school of art in public space in Europe. The presentation will focus on the creative process that are developed for exhibitions and performances in public space settings. Overview of the school's stance on artistic expression illustrated with different projects.
This webinar will be open and available online for all participants from Latvian and abroad who are interested in
local development, cultural planning and capacity building of local cultural sector.
Event will take place on April 23 at 11:00 EEST on Zoom platform. Seminar language-English.
Moderator: Mārtiņš Eņģelis, urban researcher, tourism critic and television host. Been involved in both creative industry, urban, art and tourism studies and practice for over 12 years. Still does not know how to knit.
