Epic Project-Based Learning
The Michigan Equitable Service Collaborative (MESC) is pleased to offer "Epic Project Based Learning" which is about using the power of story to engage students so that learning is memorable and transformational. Storytelling has not only proven to be the best way of sharing information but also for learning and retaining that information. A class can be designed and taught in the format of a story, adding authenticity and real-world challenges to the work students accomplish. This workshop gives concrete methods, practices, and resources to create a standards-based, skills and content-rich, story-centric classroom in an innovative project-based learning model.
The goal of this one-day workshop with Trevor Muir is for teachers to leave feeling empowered and able to plan and execute projects in their own classrooms. Along with the understanding teachers gain, participants will begin planning their own projects based on standards from their specific grade level and content areas.
The event will be on February 28, 2020, in Lansing, Michigan.
State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) will be available.
The cost for this training is $25.00 per person.
