Virtual Book Club Registration
Books enrich our lives in many ways and help us transport to a new world through words on a page. Join us as we create a space for Black teens to share their love of reading!
With social distancing practices implemented, Business is Jammin’ is leveraging creativity and technology to digitally connect Black and racially visible youth in Nova Scotia to a variety of free programs this summer around leadership, entrepreneurship, education, and community building initiatives!
BIJ programs are free and will be delivered through Zoom, an online platform! Upon registering for a program, you will immediately receive the necessary links and codes to access our programming. Save this information as the same link will be used weekly. Be sure to logon with your camera so we can interact and engage with one another!
Any supplies required to participate are free and will be sent to the address below prior to the start of the program. We will be following social and physical distancing, cleanliness, and other guidelines when administering these items as laid out by Public Health Officials.
The book's content targets youth aged 12-15, but younger or older youth are able to participate with parent's consent.
To ensure safety and consistency, all youth programs will be supervised by a Business is Jammin’ staff member and our sessions will be recorded. The virtual book club will meet weekly, each Thursday from 10am-11:00am starting August 6 to August 27. The August 6th session will be a meet and greet and overview of the program so that readers will have time to receive their books. The program may extend based on the reading schedule.
