Thank you for your interest in trading at Underneath the Stars festival 2020
Underneath the Stars Festival is a weekend event of music & family arts in the heart of South Yorkshire. It is organised by the family production team of acclaimed Yorkshire folk singer-songwriter Kate Rusby, with an emphasis on craft and quality. It attracts around 4000 visitors per day over three days and takes place 31st July - 2nd August at Cinderhill Farm, Cawthorne near Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The majority of people camp for the entire period.
The festival is seeking traders and will prioritise applications seeming to best reflect our values, which include: fair and ethical trading; environmental sustainability; value for money to customers; creativity and innovation.

The festival site is nice and compact, making it ideal for families to get amongst the action whilst never being too far from their base of operations, be it a tent, motorhome, caravan or luxury Glamping spot. In addition to two towering big-top music venues, (mainstage is fully seated, with an “attentive - concert hall” ambience, stage two is a standing venue for a more boisterous atmosphere) the festival site features lively street-arts performers, workshop activities, handmade crafts and vintage stalls as well as boutique street food vendors and bar areas.

The following information is provided in relation to a covered trading venue located in a large clearspan marquee within the main events field of the festival. The marquee will house approximately 12 craft traders and provides an opportunity for those traders that don’t have or do not wish to set up their own covered stall. There will be a keen focus on products that are hand-made by local artisans who are, ideally, also the traders themselves.
We expect demand for these pitches to be high and we will be actively prioritising applications with unique, creative and innovative products. Locally sourced and created items. Hand-crafted, one of a kind pieces. Recycled, up-cycled and sustainably sourced goods. We strive to include a diverse range of traders to the festival and will always keep the overlapping of goods within the MAKERS MARKET to a minimum.
