Deadline: Ongoing - first-come, first-served until the performance dates are full.

  • Artists must be located within New York City's five boroughs to be considered for Fertile Ground (No out of town artists will be selected to participate in the series).
  • Fertile Ground is a showcase opportunity for early-career and established choreographers. At this time, students currently enrolled in an academic program are NOT eligible for Fertile Ground.
  • Heels, character shoes and pointe shoes are NOT permitted on the studio floor (Bare feet, dance shoes and clean sneakers are permitted)
  • 4X4ft tap floor is available.

**PLEASE NOTE: Each choreographer/company may participate once per season** 
  • Fertile Ground is a NON-CURATED showcase for emerging and/or established artists.
  • The evening consists of work shown by six choreographers, followed by a moderated discussion that integrates the choreographers, dancers, and audience members. Participation by choreographer is required.
  • Fertile Ground starts at 7:00pm and run until approx. 9:00pm.
  • Presented work can be no longer than 15 minutes.
  • Each artist will be allotted a 30 minute tech rehearsal the day of their performance.
  • This series offers an excellent opportunity for participants to share new and developing work, and receive informative feedback about it in a supportive environment.
  • We are unable to offer any comp tickets for choreographer/performers.
  • You will be notified of the availability of dates upon receipt of your application.
  • All artist who apply are guaranteed a spot as long as the call is open. When all dates are full the call will close.
  • Professional video footage is available for an additional $25.
  • There is an application fee of $35, payable via PayPal, due at the time of submission. Please see bottom of this form for instructions and link.
  • For works that require VIDEO PROJECTION: all artists are required to supply their own video projection equipment and needs. There is no cyc at Green Space, and artists will likely perform with the windows as a backdrop.
