Unite Summit formed with the purpose of:
- Improving support services for students
- Strengthening teacher retention
- Providing an increased voice for teachers in decision-making
In order to achieve these goals, we will be negotiating clear contract guidelines along expectations and protocols surrounding teacher growth and security in the organization (in other words, the end of at-will employment), protections for school-based decision-making, and changes to the length of our work year, work day, and job expectations. We believe growing teachers who stay will provide a stronger web of support for their students and mentees.
The survey results collected here will be used to help inform the proposals used to bargain our first contract.
