Student Life Multicultural Center SOE Workshop Request Form
Hello and thank you for your interest in our Buck-Identity Workshops in fulfilling your Sorority and Fraternity Life Standards of Excellence! Please read ALL of the below information prior to filling out this form as there are changes that were made to the delivery of workshops for sororities and fraternities. Please allow one week to hear back from a staff member about your request. If you do not hear anything with this time frame, feel free to e-mail Stephen Deaderick for any updates.

Should you have any questions about the information below or the request form as you complete it, please contact the Program Specialist for Social Justice Engagement, Stephen Deaderick (

Location and Time
All workshop requests must be submitted at least three weeks in advance of the requested date(s). This will give us enough time to confirm your organization's attendance on your requested date.

For the 2017-2018 academic year, we have reserved a large theater-style classroom for every Monday night between 7 and 9pm. We will divide this into two time slots each Monday night (7-8pm and 8-9pm). For the Autumn semester, workshops will be held in Jennings Hall 001. Because the space can hold up to 250 people at one time, we may have more than one sorority or fraternity attend a session if the organizations request the same time slot. For this reason, please be as accurate as possible when submitting your expected number of participants. If all of the slots that you select are full, you will be contacted as soon as possible to set up a different date and time for your workshop.

It is our first preference that you utilize this form to request a workshop during one of the two Monday night slots we are hosting specifically for sororities and fraternities. However, we recognize that some organizations hold chapter meetings on other days or times of the week. Please note that effective August 2017, we will no longer be holding workshops in sorority and fraternity houses and you will be responsible for finding a space on campus to hold your SOE workshop should it occur outside of the Monday 7-9pm time frame.

If you would like your SOE workshop at a different time, or if you are informed that all of the Monday night slots you requested are full, you may utilize our general workshop request form found here: Your request on that form should not include a time that falls between 7 and 9pm on Monday. Please also remember, as mentioned above, that you will be responsible for finding a space on campus to hold the workshop.

Workshop Content
Whereas in the past organizations were asked which of the workshop offerings they wanted to have facilitated for their group, we are piloting a new workshop for ALL sororities and fraternities in the Autumn 2017 semester. This workshop, "Fostering Inclusive Organizations and Spaces" is designed to explore the ways in which organizations and members can work to be more inclusive. In this interactive presentation that will include videos, activities, and small group discussions, we will cover social identity, safe space vs. brave space, and tips for becoming a more inclusive organization.
