The Mayor's Office of International and Immigrant Affairs - Welcoming Atlanta is in need of volunteer translators to assist with the translation and interpretation of community facing information. We need individuals who have proficient reading and writing ability in the following languages: Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese (simplified), Portuguese, Russian, Swahili and French. Please note that you must read and write proficiently in the language.
If you believe you can assist, please fill-out the form below. We anticipate the commitment being around 4-6 hours a month depending on the amount of information being circulated. This is due to quick turnaround on materials. Content translators need to be able to respond within 24 hours.
You will be asked for a sample translation in section 2 of this form. Translations will be vetted for accuracy. You should score a minimum of 15 out of 20 based on the qualities described below.

• Translator has knowledge of the cultural aspects of both the source language (the language that is being translated) and the target language.
• Translator is a native speaker or has native experience with the language.
• Translator knows the cultural impact of the information and uses it in the translation.
• Translator conveys meaning rather than word-for-word translations.
