The US has promised to welcome at least 10,000 people from Afghanistan. Career support  services will be essential to helping them build a foundation for their new lives.

Program details:
The purpose of career sponsorship is to help Afghan allies navigate professional barriers, and pathways. I'm currently coordinating with various nonprofits to build a pipeline of sponsees. After I've done discovery calls and identified career interests, I will leverage this pool of volunteers to help fill in gaps where needed.

Sponsor expectations:  

There are no hard time commitments -- the word here is "commitments". You're not expected to guarantee a job, only broader access to opportunities. Whether that's through interview prep to help people advance as candidates, referrals into roles within your current organization, or simply reviewing a resume to ensure it's squared away. Do what you can, when you can.

Types of roles:
The goal is to not only help our Afghan allies land a career, but to place them into one that's meaningful and fully utilizes their past experiences and education. Ideal roles are those with advancement opportunities, and a stable salary.
