VMware Academic Program (VMAP)
VMware has been acquired by Broadcom, and Broadcom has discontinued the VMware Academic Program. However, it has also made VMware Workstation Pro and Fusion Pro free for personal use.

You can find instructions here for obtaining Workstation Pro and Fusion Pro. No license key should be required.
