About the Grow the Game Challenge and the position
This position will be a part of the Grow the Game Challenge Board of Directors.

The Grow the Game Challenge is a non-profit organization committed to growing the sport of college men's volleyball in Nashville and other U.S. areas that are not traditionally exposed to volleyball. The organization's primary focus is to coordinate and organize the Grow the Game Challenge, an annual non-conference tournament featuring multiple NCAA Division I-II men's volleyball programs.

The 2019 Grow the Game Challenge will take place Jan. 18-20 at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Job Description
Term: Now through February 2019
Pay: Volunteer
Time commitment: A couple hours per week and can work remotely, excluding the days of the tournament. There will be an increased workload the days of the tournament (Jan. 18-20) and this director will need to be on-site (Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee) during the event.

PRE-TOURNAMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
-- Develop and coordinate fan contests throughout the fall to help generate interest and awareness about the Grow the Game Challenge.
-- Work with the executive director and director of sponsorships and sales to help develop promotional giveaways for fans who attend the tournament.
-- Develop contests intended to engage fans at the tournament during intermissions and in between matches.
-- Coordinate the national anthem performances and ceremonial first serves. This task includes recruiting local community members to perform these pre-match events.
-- Work with the marketing and public relations director to promote fan contests.
-- Attend and participate in board of director meetings.

TOURNAMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
-- Coordinate contests intended to engage fans at the tournament during intermissions and between matches.
-- At times serve as the emcee for fan contests during team warmups, intermissions and following the matches.
-- Assist the executive director and marketing and public relations in fan contest and promotions as needed.
