Thank you for your interest in Catalysts & Canaries Collective Impact Incubator! We are excited to have you apply to our incubator program. Please fill out this form and we will get back to you with next steps shortly. Below is some information you should know and frequently asked questions.
Who we are: At Catalysts & Canaries, we are nurturing the future leaders of Nevada, equipping them with cutting edge knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience to make a significant impact upon entering the workforce. The program brings together aspiring professionals and industry veterans, creating dynamic teams that work on real-world projects for our client organizations. This unique approach allows our students to learn not just from expert instruction but also from the practical application of their skills in tackling actual business challenges. Our focus on project-based learning fosters the development of essential technical skills, critical thinking, and collaboration, preparing our students for a successful career, wherever their path may lead.
Who should apply: We are looking for change-makers who are committed to making our communities a better place. We are an open and inclusive environment and are committed to creating true diversity at our organization and in our clients' organizations as well. We encourage you to apply if you are a part of an underrepresented group, and especially if your imposter syndrome is acting up. Not sure if you have the necessary skills for this incubator? Apply anyway! We will train you on the skills you need.
What will you be doing: As part of the incubator, you will be put on one of our project teams based on your strengths and interests, as well as the area(s) in which you want to develop further skills. You will be working with other participants on actual real-world projects with our clients--local Vegas organizations that are excited to get the support of students who posses the most cutting-edge skills and tools to solve their problems. You will have the support of a Project Manager with deep industry expertise, who will guide you through every step of the project. You'll enjoy our culture of continuous learning and development, where you will be trained and equipped with what you need to be successful on the project.
Expectations: This program will require 10-20 hours per week (depending on University requirements) for the duration of the semester (excluding university and state observed holidays and breaks). Currently, there is no charge to join the incubator experience, and you receive credit for your degree program. However, we are working hard to provide scholarships and bonuses for future cohorts. You will need a working laptop/computer and phone (if you do not have one, we can figure out a good solution). We will provide you with everything else needed to be successful in this program (tools, resources, workspace, etc.). Please note that some projects require a background check. You will be trained and onboarded after selection.
Next Steps: Once you complete this application, we will review all the information you submitted and get back to you within 2 weeks. If you move on to the next step in the application process, you will be invited to a 30-minute structured interview.
