Italian Day 2017

Now into its eighth year since its return in 2010, Italian Day on The Drive represents the celebration of Italian culture and the contributions made to Vancouver by Italian immigrants and their children.

A vibrant cultural street festival for all ages, Italian Day is a community driven event, attracting over 300,000 people and spanning 13 blocks in a day long celebration, while showcasing all that is Italian to Vancouver’s multi-cultural community. Italian Day is held annually on The Drive, the heart of the district representing rich history of over 50 years of Italian heritage and considered Vancouver’s Little Italy.

In a sea of green, white and red, the street comes alive with Italian musical performances, hands-on activities and games, vendors, patios, food and beverage tastings, street performers, classic vehicle exhibits and so much more.

2017 Theme: Amore.

As Vancouver’s largest and most celebrated cultural street festival, each year Italian Day includes a distinct signature theme; and for 2017, we invite guests to enjoy Italians’: Amore.

In Italian, Amore means love. Whether in philosophy or in its endearing use of expression, love lies at the heart of Italian culture and its lifestyle. For Italian Day 2017, we celebrate Amore in all aspects of life and the power it holds to inspire, connect and create infinite possibilities and experiences, both individually and collectively.

With Italian Day 2017, the pleasures of beautiful Italian food and drink will represent the heart of the celebrations when shared with Vancouver’s multi-cultural community, as a symbolical extension of warmth the Italian table offers, as well as a showcase of Italian products and local Vancouver eateries.

Amore! Let’s eat and celebrate in the Italian spirit on Sunday, June 11 2017.
