We are grateful for your interest in the project and willingness to participate in peer review. By doing so, you keep us honest and contribute to the important work of illuminating the geography of ICE detention in the United States.
All reviewers who provide their name will be acknowledged in the project.
We ask that you evaluate and assess the design and narrative (“Textures") on the site. Taking into account that the project was created swiftly over a 7-day period, please offer feedback on how effectively we articulated the purpose of the project, the experience of undertaking research, the decisions we made while designing data visualizations, site navigation, and the difficult political and ethical choices we made in the process. If you would like to take the data into account as you review the project, please send an email to

If you have new information about detention sites or ORR shelters, please share them with us as well and include your sources. If you also know of a data set that you think will be helpful to us as we map detention and immigration in the USA, we would love to know.
