GGBA Community Ministries 2025 Volunteer Application     
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! Our mission is to serve the Residents of Gaston County who are dealing with Food and Clothing Insecurity. By volunteering with us, you'll be making a direct impact on those in need while growing spiritually and emotionally. We are excited to have you join our mission! 

Please complete the application below to begin the process of becoming a volunteer. After submission, our volunteer coordinator will reach out to you. 

Volunteer Criteria: 

  • Ability to Listen and Learn: Volunteers must be open to learning about our processes and procedures, and most importantly, they must be able to listen to and follow instructions carefully. This is crucial for ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a high level of service to those we support.   
  • Commitment and Dedication: Our work relies on individuals who are truly invested in making a positive impact and are ready to commit their time and energy consistently.  
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20-30lbs.  
  • Able to work with varying Populations: Comfortable working with the unsheltered or those in need of temporary charity.
  • Current Identification: Must have a valid driver’s license or current photo identification.  
  • Team Players: Our Ministry functions best when everyone works well together. Volunteers must be collaborative, patient, flexible and willing to step in where help is needed.  

Ways You Can Help 

  • Food Sorting and Inspection: Help ensure that all donated food is safe and sorted for distribution to those in need. 
  • Clothing Sorting and Inspection: Help ensure that all donated clothing is inspected and sorted for distribution to those in need. 
  • Maintain Food and Clothing Inventory. 
  • Prepare Food and Clothing for Clients to pick up.
  • Gentle Cleaning, Maintain work area. 
  • Assisting Donors with Food and Clothing Deliveries.

Our volunteer hours are 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM.

Volunteers will only serve 1-2 hours per day.
