Free Weekend Food for your Child/Children Available!
The Gretna Public Schools Foundation in partnership with the District, is starting a Weekend Backpack Program to offer a supply of nutritious meals and snack option for children over the weekend. This program is being offered FREE of charge if you are struggling to meet your family's food needs and would benefit from receiving additional food. You can either pick up your bag of food weekly at Gretna Public Schools District Office (11717 S. 216th Street) or we can send home the bag discreetly in your child's backpack at the end of each week. Any child enrolled in Gretna Public Schools is eligible to receive these weekly bags of food. The backpack program will start Friday, September 19th. If your family is enrolled, your child/children will receive a bag of food each week until the end of the school year or until you no longer wish to participate.  If anyone in your family has food allergies or dietary restrictions, please check all food before consuming.

Enrollment will be ongoing throughout the school year. Please note the food will be packed Thursday so it is ready to be picked up or delivered to your student by Friday.  Only one form is needed per family, but please list all children in the household. This program is provided by the Gretna Public Schools Foundation thanks to the generosity of community grants and donors. Donors include Village Square in Gretna and Walmart on 168th & Harrison.
