Accelerate Learning Contractor Application
Position Purpose:

The successful candidate will provide production support, specifically in the area of copy editing, to the Manager of Product Development.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Candidates must be able to dedicate at least 10 hours a week to Accelerate Learning projects, depending on the project(s) assigned. Hours are not guaranteed.

Candidates will work remotely but should be available to communicate via email or telephone during regular business hours (8:30 – 5:30 PM).

Responsibilities include reviewing and editing content for K–12 science curriculum, adhering to the style and standards of the in-house style guide as well as Chicago, maintaining the projects tracker in Google spreadsheet, and providing feedback on content issues and most common writing mistakes found in documents.


1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Writing, or the equivalent. A master degree or alternative writing/editing certification is preferred.
2. At least two years of providing professional editing services.
3. Ability to keep a detailed, focused eye on heavy content.
4. Excellent grammar and usage knowledge.
5. Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS).
6. Knowledge and comfortability with working in Google drive, slides, docs, and spreadsheet.
7. Ability to manage projects and work under strict deadlines without losing focus or quality of work.
8. To be considered for this opening, an editing sample will be required.
