The Annual Virginia Thespians Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids Pageant is an event where male Conference participants are able to dress up in their best female attire and compete in a drag-style beauty pageant. Each participant will create and become their own unique character, each with a biography that will be shared with the audience. We will have buckets set out during Conference with your headshot where people can donate to help you secure the title of Miss Leading Lady 2019! All donations from this will go towards Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS. This year, we are asking that all participants truly embrace the role they play as an Ambassador for Broadway Cares and Virginia Thespians throughout the entire weekend. To do this, we ask that each participant has an article of their character each day of Conference.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation's leading industry based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. They fund the social service programs of "The Actors Fund" and award grants to those affected by AIDS and family service organizations in all 50 states. Together we can make a difference!
RULES: Shoes must be worn at all times, no scandalous outfits, no profanity or inappropriate messages. You must show off so you can WOW the audience! Have fun with your character! You must also come prepared. Breaking any of these rules will mean you cannot participate. Please understand this weekend you will be representing not only your school, but Virginia Thespians and Broadway Cares as a whole.
Please answer all of the questions below. Additionally, be prepared for an on-site interview at Conference itself. Have fun and we look forward to seeing you all strut your stuff this February!
