Experiential Learning with the VSO Chorus: Holiday Pops • FALL 2024

Location: IN PERSON ( & ONLINE

Class Dates and Times: 
Rehearsals: Nov 2, 9, 16, 23.  1-4pm, alternating between Rutland and Colchester.  

Dress Rehearsal: Dec 6 (afternoon) in Barre (arrive as you are able after school hours)
Performances:  Dec. 6 @ 7:30pm (Barre), Dec. 7 @ 7:30pm (Burlington), and Dec. 8 @ 3pm (Rutland)

Credits:
1 Graduate Credit: $595
15 hours PD Certificate: $450

Requirements:
Participants are expected to attend all rehearsals (with one excused absence) and all concerts. (see above)

Prerequisite: Registrants must audition for and be accepted into the VSO Chorus for the Fall '24 term. Auditions will take place in Burlington, VT on October 26th.

Course Description: 
Registrants will provide reflective journal entries while attending the rehearsals and performances for the VSO Chorus's Holiday Pops program, conducted by José Daniel Flores-Caraballo. Participants will respond to a variety of teaching, conducting, and vocal techniques used throughout the rehearsals and performances while drawing connections to their own work in the classroom.

We welcome all interested singers to schedule a vocal assessment (audition) to be considered for the upcoming season.  Auditions will be held on Oct 26, 2024 in the Burlington area. Auditions include an assessment of your vocal range, plus a short prepared excerpt (see details below).  To indicate interest and schedule an audition, email Chorus Coordinator Hannah Hansen at hannah@vso.org.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel up to 14 days prior to the start of class to receive a tuition refund. Cancellation after that time period will result in a 50% tuition refund. No refunds available within 24 hours of the course beginning.
The only exception is if the registrant is not accepted into the chorus following their audition. If so, payment will not be completed and registration will be cancelled. 
Failing to schedule or show up for your audition does not apply to this exception.  *
