WHATE3's fourth annual Sustainable Art Competition is an opportunity for students to showcase innovative artwork that conveys a sustainable message and utilizes recycled and reused materials. The theme for this year's competition is Shades of Green, but feel free to be creative and interpret it how you want!
WHENArtwork will be on display during E3's Farmer's Market on Wednesday, April 20th from 2:30 to 6:30pm and then again during the Earth Day Fair on Friday the 22nd from 10 am to 3 pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
WHEREThe Farmer's Market will be in Bruin Plaza, and the Earth Day Fair will be in Wilson Plaza.
PARTICIPATIONUCLA students, alumni, faculty and staff, as individuals or as groups, are eligible to participate. Participants must complete this participation form.
EVALUATION CRITERIA1. Significant and innovative use of recycled/reused material (optional, not required) 2. Impact and creativity of theme: How well your piece conveys a sustainable message3. Overall presentation/impression
VOTINGVoting will be done through Google Forms on Wednesday during E3's Farmer's Market and Friday during the Earth Day Fair.
PRIZESAll students who submit art will receive a gift bag There will be a first, second, and third place prize (all currently TBD) as well as gift bags for all students that submit art.
RESTRICTIONSForm of Art: Art must be able to be hung/mounted on an easel or be able to stand alone on a flat surface (floor or table).
DEADLINE: Monday, April 18thSubmissions must be submitted to the Sustainable Resource Center (Kerckhoff 160) by April 18th between 6:30 and 7:30 pm. If this time does not work, please email the contact below.
